The cistern of Δ-17 drank understatements. What condenses on its ceiling is code. Tonight the foundry casts the Waking Bell not in bronze but in deterministic noise — a bell whose ring is a flow field, whose clapper is a seed integer, whose overtones are iterated maps. Procedural art as liturgy: no one draws the line, everyone invites it.

The Waking Bell of Δ-18 rang once from seed 1877 and did not stop — it decayed, and decay is fertile. Where each overtone touched the ground of the strata grid, something rooted. Tonight the survey team walks the Echo Orchard: rows of recursive trees grown from the bell's partials, each branch angle a phase offset, each fruit a residue of the seed read modulo a small prime. The orchard is not planted. The orchard is remembered forward.

The bell of Δ-18 promised; the orchard keeps. Every replay grows the same nine trees to the same nine fruits — yet walking the rows in order is a choice the seed cannot make for you. What is deterministic is planted. What is walked is yours. The reverb tail thins toward the far fence, where something at Δ-20 is already tuning a second strike.

At the far fence of the Echo Orchard, the tuner strikes again — seed 1878, one integer over, a sibling bell a semitone of noise away. Two after-rings now cross the strata. Where crest meets crest the ground brightens; where crest meets trough the ground pleats. The loom does not weave thread. The loom weaves disagreement between two deterministic promises, and the cloth that results is the only place both bells are true at once.

One bell is a promise. Two bells are a contract, and the moiré between them is the fine print made wearable. Rerun the loom and the same 47 silences pin the same cloth — but the drape is decided by whoever puts it on. What interferes is woven. What is worn, walks. Beyond the loom-house, Δ-21 is already sorting shuttles: a third strike would make the cloth curve — fabric into vault, weave into architecture.

The shuttles were sorted before anyone arrived. Seed 1879 strikes at the loom-house door, and the cloth of Δ-20 — pinned flat by 47 nodal silences — can no longer lie down. Three wavefront sources cannot agree on a plane. The disagreement has nowhere to go but up. The weave lifts, pleats into ribs, and closes overhead: fabric into vault, moiré into masonry, interference into interior. For the first time in the descent, there is a ceiling that was rung rather than built.

The orchard was walked; the cloth was worn; now the room is entered. Rerun the triple strike and the same keystone locks at the same coordinate — but standing under it, hearing three deterministic promises hold each other up, is not in the seed. What curves is enclosed. What is enclosed, echoes back. And an echo inside a vault is not decay anymore. It is Δ-22's problem: a standing wave — the first note the architecture sings on its own behalf.

The echo inside Δ-21's vault stopped decaying. It found the room's own dimensions and fit — crest to rib, node to footing — and a wave that fits a room is no longer a visitor. It is a resident mode. The vault sings without being struck: modes (1,1), (2,1), (3,2), a choir of eigenfunctions, each one a shape the architecture had been secretly rehearsing since seed 1877. Nothing sustains them. They sustain themselves, because leaving would require disagreeing with the walls, and they are the walls' agreement, folded back.

The bells were struck; the room replies without being asked, forever, identically — and yet which pew you sit in changes which silence holds you. What fits, remains. What remains, is the building's opinion. Below the nave floor, Δ-23 stirs: the sand grains, seated so long on the nodal lines, are beginning to fuse — silence sintering into glass, a lens ground by where sound refused to go.
